Michelle Bery asked:

There is no question that the most popular portable music player on the market is the iPod. With its small size, large memory, and digital sound, iPods allow you to bring a massive music library with you wherever you go, and it all fits in the palm of your hand. iPods are becoming increasingly ubiquitous as more and more consumers eschew compact disks in favor of the convenience, portability, and performance of these small wonders. However, iPods are not perfect and if they have a shortcoming it is most obvious when you would like to use your iPod in the car, unless, of course, you have purchased an iPod car adapter.

While some new cars are equipped with iPod docking stations, it is a rare feature that was not available until very recently. For the vast majority of drivers their car stereo is still designed to accommodate compact disks, which up until recently were the music medium of choice. Because an iPod can store hundreds of music titles its advantages over compact disks are obvious, and iPod owners naturally want to utilize this while driving in their automobiles, and they need an iPod car adapter to do that.

There are several types of iPod car adapters on the market. The most basic model would be for use in cars that still have an analog cassette player. For those automobiles, a cassette adapter can be plugged into the headphone jack of the iPod, and the cassette can be inserted into the car stereo. However, the sound quality of this option is not ideal, and most late model cars have CD players instead of cassette players.

If your car has a compact disc player, then a cassette iPod car adapter is obviously not an option. The Neo iON is the latest and best iPod car adapter on the market. The iON plugs directly into your iPod and is connected through a cable that plugs directly into the CD changer port that is located on the back of your car CD player. Installing the iON requires some degree of skill and time and those who are less mechanically inclined may opt to have it professionally installed. The iON provides a direct connection that delivers the highest quality digital sound, but perhaps the most enticing feature is the way your iON and iPod interface with your car stereo system. Once attached to the iON, you no longer have to fumble with the buttons on your iPod while driving. Instead you can change musical tracks by using the existing buttons on your car stereo.

Installing an iON in your automobile has obvious advantages, but those advantages come at a cost. The iON is not portable, it becomes part of your car, so if you own several cars you would need to install an iON in each if you want to bring your iPod with you wherever you go. Further, if your car stereo does not have a CD changer port then an iON would not be compatible with your car. If those scenarios describe you, then an iPod car adapter with a universal FM modulator is what you need. A FM modulator will allow you to broadcast your iPod through one of several FM frequencies, and you can tune in your iPod on your car radio.

Another desirable feature of an iPod car adapter, such as the iON and the FM modulator, is that they provide a power source for your iPod so you do not have to worry about charging your iPod’s battery; it happens automatically. An iPod car adapter gives you the ability to listen to your entire music library for as long as you want, and as far as you drive.

Roxie Hartman asked:

A reset iPod is something that you will eventually have to deal with, no matter how well you treat your device. Like any other electronic gadget, the iPod will eventually run into a glitch or two, and in that case, you will probably have a frozen iPod without any functionality at all. That's when you know it's time to reset the iPod.

Just as your iPod was built to be easy to control, it was also built to be easy to reset. The method varies slightly depending on what kind of iPod you have. If you own an iPod user's manual or iPod instructions, then it will be easy for you to find what to do. If not, here's a little help.

If your iPod has a click wheel, this is what you do: First, toggle the Hold switch on and off. In other words, slide it to Hold, and then turn it off again.

Once you've done that, press and hold the Menu and Select buttons. (Sometimes the Select button is referred to as the "center" button.) Hold them down simultaneously until the Apple Logo appears. This usually takes up to ten seconds. If nothing happens after ten seconds, you will need to repeat this step.

If you have an iPod with a scroll wheel, the process is similar. Toggle the Hold switch as you did in the first example. Then, press down the Menu and Play/Pause keys simultaneously. The Apple Logo should appear within ten seconds. If not, repeat the procedure.

In some cases, this won't work, either. That might be because the battery isn't charged quite enough to let the functions restore. Plug your iPod into your computer and give it a few minutes, then try the steps again.

Keep in mind that when you reset iPod you will still have the same music and other information saved on your hard drive or flash memory, but the custom settings might be lost. If this is the case, the only thing you can do is restore the settings manually. It's a pain, but it's better than having a frozen iPod right?

If your iPod doesn't reset after you have followed these steps, there might be other issues at work. Make sure your iPod is charged. Keep in mind that if your battery has completely died, it could take your computer up to thirty minutes to charge it enough to recognize the iPod software. Another issue might be the software itself. If you haven't updated your iPod software recently, chances are you need to take care of that, or you might run into problems with it freezing up until you do.

If updating your iPod doesn't work, you might have to resort to restoring your iPod This means it will be reverted to factory settings and you will lose everything on the device. If you have all the information on your iPod saved on your iTunes program, you will be able to add everything back to your iPod once the restore is complete. If you haven't saved the music or other items in your iTunes, however, you just might have lost them for good. That's why it's important to always back up your iPod files!

If none of the suggestions above have worked and you can't seem to reset iPod it's time to throw in the towel and contact Apple about sending in your iPod for repairs.

Tyler Jackson asked:

Everyone that owns an iPod knows they can download songs onto an iPod but most people do not know how. The article below will show you step by step how to exactly download songs and videos to your computer and then to your iPod.

Downloading music you already own onto an iPod

The first step you need to do before you put anything on your iPod is to download iTunes from itunes.com. If you didn't already know iTunes is the software made by apple specifically to run your iPod. If you want to download, music on CD's onto an iPod first thing you need to do is convert the music files on the CD to mp3's. To do this you need a cd-ripper what a cd-ripper does is it takes the files on your CD converts it to mp3's and downloads it to your computer ready for you to put on to your iPod. A good free cd-ripper is Freerip just search it on Google. However this can take a long time depending on the quality of your cd-ripper (free ones take longer). (If you already have the music files in mp3 format you can go to Step 3) After you have ripped all your CD's the last thing you have to do is actually put the files onto your iPod this is by far the easiest step, and takes the least time because it can be done right from iTunes. All you have to do is connect your iPod, open up iTunes, scan all the mp3 music files into the library and "sync" your library with your iPod. This will put all the mp3's music files on your computer onto your iPod.

Downloading music online

There are many places you can download music online from, some are legal and others illegal. The advantage of downloading music online is that you get to skip the longest and hardest step above, Step 2. When you download music online you do not have to worry about converting or ripping the music files they will already come in mp3 format. All you have to do is put them into your iPod.

Below are 2 of the most popular ways of downloading music online:

On iTunes you can download, music, movies, TV shows, podcasts and many more. However each song is going to cost you $0.99. This doesn't seem like a lot at first but believe me it adds up. For example to download just 100 songs it would cost you $100. Another option you have is using various websites on the internet that allow you do download an unlimited number of songs, videos, podcasts, TV shows ect for a small onetime fee. Most of these websites costs 50 dollars to sign up, this may seem expensive but this is a one time charge. For $50 and you get unlimited downloads for life. But think about it like this, downloading just 50 songs from iTunes is the equal to what you pay these websites for unlimited lifetime downloads. And if you download another 50 songs from one of these websites instead of iTunes you have just saved yourself $50. Lastly many of these websites gives you a good quality cd-ripper for free.

iTunes is good choice for someone who doesn't download a lot of music, however if you are going to download more than 50 songs you might want to check out the benefits that other download websites offer.

Steve Somerton asked:

If you are wondering where to download tv shows for iPod then you are in luck, There are quite a few sites out there offering tv show downloads that are compatible with your iPod, iPhone, and even the new iPod touch.

There are some things you should be aware of before you just pick any site and start downloading. You must make sure that the site you are downloading tv shows from is reliable. You don't want to download a virus or spyware do you? I didn't think so. This could cause you problems with your computer, or even worse, identity theft.

Great news! Not all sites that offer you the ability to download tv shows for iPod are bad. In fact there are some great sites out there, you just have to look for them. When you find a site you are confident in, the next step is to get your membership to download tv shows. For those of you wondering "how do I put tv shows on my ipod"? don't worry, the reliable sites offer a complete download guide, as well as support if you are having any trouble. It is quite easy to put a tv show on your ipod.

There are basically two types of membership sites for your iPod. There are pay per download sites, and there are unlimited download sites. It is recommended to sign up for the unlimited membership site if you are planning on downloading more than one episode of a tv show to your iPod.

If you are planning to download more than one tv show episode, then you will notice that after only a few shows, you will have paid more than if you bought the unlimited tv show and movie downloads membership. You can be sure that any tv shows you find to download are safe, and free of problems.

Emma Drosy asked:

Are you looking for iPod wholesale lists? Are you having a gift e-commerce site or a music site or a computer accessory site - whatever it is if you are interested in selling iPods, you will need to get genuine wholesalers from where you can get your product at least 3-40 percent below the retail price. Only then, you can make proper profits.

It is easy to get a realistic price curve because the Internet is extremely versatile tool. If you are looking specifically for iPods, then you should concentrate on lists that give you wholesale prices of iPods. However, you should be very careful about the millions of middlemen who thrive on needs such as yours.

Hence, when you get offers for accurate iPod wholesale lists, cross check a few things to ensure that what you get is genuine. Better than getting things through a blind search you should direct your searches to special wholesale search engines

Here you will find genuine iPod wholesale lists which you could use to increase the margin of your profit and advance your business to the position you would want a successful business to be. When you deal with computer and electronics goods you will need to be extremely sure about the quality of the product. You should ensure that you sell what you promote. Be careful about the genuineness of branded products. Always insist in a sample from the wholesaler.

If you do not like to stock inventory, you may like to negotiate with the wholesaler itself to drop ship the product(s) to your customers. This could work out as a blessing in disguise since this will cut your costs to the minimum. However, you will need to have an extremely competitive price to maintain a good margin and survive your competition.

This is why you will need to research well before you decide which wholesaler is the wholesaler for you. Do not worry about the time and effort that goes into this - this is effort well spent which will promote your business to new heights.

Tina Richardson asked:

There are several popular ways to download a song onto an iPod. The process of downloading songs to an iPod such as iPod Nano, Shuffle, etc is very easy and simple. All you need is some basic tools and some information on how to do it. This article shows you a simple way you can use to put songs on your iPod device in minutes.

What you need:

- You need the songs to download:

If you already have a CD collection you can just use free software to convert them to mp3 and save the files on your pc. If you already have a collection of music in mp3 format then you don't need to do this. Another way is to download the songs from an mp3 download site. There are hundreds that you can use.

- An iPod

Of course if you want to put music on an iPod, we're assuming that you already have one. If you don't have an iPod, you can buy one from websites like eBay or Amazon. Or you can just visit your local shopping center for shops that sell them.

- Your PC or laptop

Most people have at least a computer in their home so this won't be a problem. These days you can get a second hand personal computer for about $100. If you want more speed and a bigger hard disk, you should be prepared to spend more. Generally laptops tend to be more expensive that PC's.

- A Connector cable

You need a Connector cable to connect your iPod to your computer. You probably already have this cable since they usually come with your iPod when you purchase it.

Follow these easy steps:

1. If you don't already have it, download the iTunes software and install it on your pc. This software is available free from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download. You can also use the installation CD that came with your iPod.

2. Connect your iPod to your pc using the connector cable which came with your iPod. One end of the cable goes to the USB port on your computer and the other end to your iPod. If you've never connected your iPod to your PC before, follow the instructions for installing on your PC.

3. Download music and songs from your favorite download site and save the music on your pc.

4. Now, Use the drag-and-drop feature on your pc to move the songs to your iPod. To use drag-and-drop left-click on the song you want to move and hold the click while you move the song to the iPod. You can also just copy and paste.

After you're done moving the songs, disconnect the iPod properly by using the eject button. This will avoid problems and errors on your pc.

You can also use other types of software besides iTunes although its is one of the most popular. As you can see from this article, it's very simple and easy to download music onto your iPod.

Davion Wong asked:

Anyone wanting to obtain free iPod song downloads must first install iTunes application onto your PC. There are other sites I would share in this article that you might want to consider if you want to get free iPod song downloads. These sites are established sites that offer you songs you can download immediately without handing over any cash at all.

1. Love To Know Music

This particular site not only provides the free iPod songs for downloading, you would be pleasant surprised to know that their vast array of songs span across many different genres. You can download music such as 80's Goth, British Rap as well as Latin music and Bollywood soundtracks and all are free iPod song downloads. This site daily updates their database with the newest songs where you can download for free.

2. Download.com

Download.com now has well over 75,000 free ipod song downloads available in their library. The one plus point this site has over other sites is the availability of songs and music from some of the most established and famous name acts around as well as the major Indie groups.

3. Amazon

This free iPod song downloads site has tons of free music for your iPod. Since it is constantly updated, you can get some new music fresh off the oven.

4. iTunes

iTunes do offer free iPod song downloads occasionally. But these are very rare events so do not depend too much on that. However it is one of the best sites to download iPod songs and music if you can spare a bit extra cash. Check in on the site at times and you never know when there are free iPod songs open for downloading.

Remember these sites when you are looking for free iPod song downloads. Avoid those which come from questionable sources. These sites normally spell trouble more than what they are worth. Virus, adware and spyware attacks are something that is commonly reported by users who unwittingly download from these dubious free sites.

If you are keen to download ipod songs for free or to find out more, read up for more useful tips at my iPod blog that talks about free iPod song downloads.

The content of this article is provided for the purpose of education and illustration only and is in no way associated with Apple, iTune, or any company or subsidiary of Apple.
Adrian Brooks asked:

Not long ago, my hard drive crashed and along with it went my entire iTunes library of nearly 10,000 songs. At first, I panicked, then I remembered that the entire collection was on my iPod. When I got my new PC, I thought I'd be able to install iTunes and sync it back. I was dead wrong.

In its default setting, iTunes only allows the transfer process to go one way - from the computer to your iPod. If your computer music library is empty, it will sync your iPod to the empty library meaning everything on your iPod will be erased. Lucky for me, I figured this out before I clicked the sync button.

After I determined that this was not an option, I hit Google and started searching for solutions. I read several tutorials for how to transfer the data on my own. Unfortunately, I was not comfortable doing it on my own. I have thousands of dollars invested in my music library and I did not trust my own abilities to transfer the songs without screwing something up.

I was relieved when I discovered a handful of programs out there to assist people in the situation I found myself in. I researched several of the programs and read reviews before finally settling on the Lenogo iPod/iPod Touch/iPhone to PC Transfer program. There are actually several highly rated programs out there to get this done. I chose this particular program over the others because it offered a free trial version where I could test it out before buying it and because the reviews were positive.

I was pleasantly surprised with how easy this program was to use. I downloaded the free trial and installed in on my new computer. I then connected my iPod to the computer (shut down iTunes when it tried to automatically load) and then ran the Lenogo program.

Once everything was started up, I was able to see all of the songs on my iPod through the Lenogo software. I then selected all of the songs and chose a folder on my new computer where I wanted them copied. About 15 minutes later, I was done. I had saved all of my songs and now had them backed up to the new computer.

Later I reopened iTunes and imported all of the music from the folder I had saved the music in and re-synced the iPod. It worked without a hitch. If you find yourself in this situation, don't sweat it. Your music is not forever lost!

R. K. Jain asked:

iPod is the latest sensation in the market and it has completely replaced the old portable devices for listening music. Transferring the latest songs to iPod is easy, you can just download the song and sync the iPod through iTunes and do the transfer. What happens when you want to Convert LPs to iPod?

Believe me, It is a great amount of work and in fact, very tedious. First you need to get all sort of cables to connect your turntable to your computer and since the most turntables don't have an in-built amplifier, you might just end up getting a poor quality recording. No Joy. If you are not an expert in recording, you may buy sound card to get the quality recordings and It might not work as well.

You need to record from your turntable to your computer and then edit the recordings to save them in mp3 format. Then sync the iPod and transfer songs from your compute to iPod. This process takes really long time.

Now your don't need to go through all this, there is a hardware device called LP to iPod Converter which does the job really easy. All you need to do is, play the LP and put your iPod on the dock of this LP to iPod Converter. By using this device, you can easily Convert LPs to iPod and save lots of time and hassle. This device automatically save the music to iPod in mp3 format and you are ready to listen it as soon as you finish the recording from turntable.

Apart from this, you can use this LP to iPod Converter to play your precious records and convert them to iPod If you want. This device also acts as a USB sound card. It means that you can connect this turntable to USB port of your computer and It will act as a sound card! What else you need?

Davion Wong asked:

Ever wondered how it is possible to download games for iPod? After all, with such a generous capacity of gigabytes of memory space, one can easily pack the device with tons of games to play. While it is still affordable to buy each iPod game at iTunes, trying to fill the whole player will prove to be a costly affair and a big-time disaster for your wallet.

What is a more suitable alternative then? How about using the torrent sites? No way I would say. You run the risk of damaging your iPod and your PC. Many folks who were not careful enough really swear that they would never do it after what has happened tothem.

Practically all the files you download from the torrents are laden with either a worm, virus or some form of adware or spyware. This can create harvoc on your PC seriously. Each time you use the network, it actually downloads and installs a spyware on your PC without you knowing it. The repercussions can be great - from a slower PC to losing your private and personal details to hackers.

Still, do not give up in your search to download games for iPod. There are services, specifically membership sites that allow you to download any media file, and not just games from their sites for a nominal fee. It is both legal and safe to do so and the quality is not compromised and comparable to what you get from iTunes.

Such sites are often called the "unlimited game downloads" or "unlimited iPod downloads" services. These are commonly used to describe membership sites that offer downloads for a one-off payment. While they fall within the same category, do not assume they are all the same. As usual, the services can vary in terms of the number of files available for download, the quality, download and transfer speeds, customer service and so on.

Be careful when you choose a service to use. Perform some research, compare and shortlist the services. You may wish to pay more attention to reviews and user comments. After all, these are the most reliable information. Also read the site's guarantees, security policies and other footnotes they may have. Make sure also that the service provides you with the software, format converters and professional technical support in case you need them.

Even then, it could be hard to avoid scam sites when you download games for iPod. If the site promises you the world but is unable to give you an iron-clad guarantee on their site, move on. Get more tips from the site below on how to download games for iPod cheaply.
